Suture Suspension Lifts

A Suture Suspension Lift (or SSL) is a procedure to lift loose skin and flabby soft tissue. This creates a more youthful, lifted, and natural appearance with no scarring and very little downtime.

Traditional surgical lifts require a surgeon to make large and dramatic incisions in order to create the desired results, but with a suture suspension lift, the experience is quite the opposite. We use small needles to place long internal sutures, contouring and shaping the face and body without resorting to invasive and complex surgery. In fact, the procedure is so minimally invasive that is it performed with only local anesthetic – meaning no IV sedation or general anesthesia. You will be wide awake and comfortable during the entire procedure.

Unlike other minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, the results of a suture suspension lift are permanent. The procedure has the added advantage of being completely reversible.

This technique is ideal for lifting the face, neck, chin, ears, nose, eyebrows, breasts, or buttocks and results in a more natural and youthful appearance.

Developed by Dr. Nikolay P. Serdev, MD, PhD of Sophia, Bulgaria, the technique lifts the deep, movable subcutaneous tissue by anchoring it to non-movable tissue (such as the fascia covering muscle, the periosteum covering the bone, or the bone itself). Dr. Serdev later trained and bestowed upon Dr. Reynolds the title of "Master Trainer" – the only certified "Master" in the United States – and Dr. Reynolds has since further refined the technique and the equipment used. Dr. Reynolds has personally trained Dr. Jonathan Walker in this revolutionary procedure.

This technique is significantly better than typical, superficial, non-permanent lifting techniques. These techniques, which go by names like the "Curl Lift," "Coffee Break Lift," "Contour Thread Lift," and the "Feather Lift," afford results that appear similar to those of the Reynolds-Serdev technique but do not last as long.
